Your Guide To Temecula Wine Tours.
Tuesday, June 12, 2007, 02:06 PM - California
Your Guide To Temecula Wine Tours. A travel destination article featured by USA City Directories, a portal to guides and directories for cities, counties and states in the United States Of America. There are certainly worldwide locations that are synonymous with the production of wine and the tours in those places are extremely well known and very popular. However, there are still a few largely unheard of locations that you should really make the most of before they are taken over by tourists. Temecula wine tours take place in just one such location because the majority of people will not realise that wine production occurs there.

You will be discovering a whole new world of wine if you choose to go on Temecula wine tours. You will find that they are so much different from tours anywhere else in the world that you will be experiencing something completely new and unique, even if you have been on a variety of wine tours before. Temecula wine tours are extremely luxurious and extravagant, even to the trained eye

Temecula wine tours take place in a very different setting to most other wines. The scenery is more stunningly archaic and classical than lush! It will certainly give you a different perspective on wine and the way in which it is made! You may have sampled the wine before because it is largely imported all over the world, but going on a Temecula wine tour will certainly help you to understand why the wine is as good as it is.

Temecula wine tours are meticulously planned by all of the companies offering them, and their organization is extremely novel given that other wine tours are just roughly planned out. The Temecula wine tours guides are very well versed in their chosen subject and will be able to answer any and all questions that you throw at them. They all have a genuine interest in wine rather than simply doing it as a day job.

Temecula wine tours may be extremely comprehensive and may also be amongst the best in the world, but they are also cheap in comparison to some other wine tours out there. The Temecula wine tours are not well known but cater for those genuinely interested in wine so they make it as available to everyone as they possibly can. Despite the fact that few people have heard of this region, the waiting lists are surprisingly long for all Temecula wine tours. It may be wise to book on one or two Temecula wine tours well before you visit the region to be sure of getting onto one.

Temecula wine tours are definitely worth their weight in gold and are well worth waiting for. They will revolutionize your wine experience so book up while you can!

Ten Things To Do In Chicago If You're A Tourist (Or Even A Local).
Saturday, June 9, 2007, 07:29 PM - Illinois
Wrigley Field. Ten Things To Do In Chicago If You're A Tourist (Or Even A Local). A travel destination article featured by USA City Directories, a portal to guides and directories for cities, counties and states in the United States Of America.I just got back from a very enjoyable trip to Chicago, and I thought I'd share the sights and activities that I enjoyed the most during my week's stay there.

Wander around Millennium Park

One of the city’s biggest attractions, the 24.5 acre park is located right in the middle of the city centre and offers plenty of lush green lounging space, striking architecture, structural art and refreshments. Our favourites were the Crown Fountain, two high towers made of glass bricks across a granite square where children and adults alike splashed around in the hot sun; and the Cloud Gate, a huge stainless steal structure that is so highly polished that it reflects the surrounding skyline, greenery and people milling around.

Eat the best steak of your life

The Mid-West boasts some of the best beef in America. As a treat we went to David Burke's Primehouse which wasn’t cheap, but that night we had the best steak we have ever eaten. (And I’ve wolfed down a lot of steak in my lifetime!) All the meat comes from animals sired by Prime, the owner’s bull, and aged in house. Highly recommended.

Lunch at the Loop

The Loop is the city’s central business district, which is at its most lively during the day. Fantastic lunches during our trip included Patty Burger, which offers hand-formed Angus patties; Frontera Fresco at Macy’s, where celebrity chef Rick Bayless offers reasonable but excellent Mexican food; and Russian Tea Time, a Russian restaurant with a décor harking back to Communist excess and food that just melts in your mouth.

Shop on the Magnificient Mile

As a typical Irish tourist, I packed light on the flight over and dragged a bulging suitcase on the flight back. The Magnificient Mile, actually the section of Michigan Avenue between the Chicago River and Water Tower Place, is lined with department stores and flagships including Gap, Banana Republic, French Connection and other big ticket brands. The Loop contains a big Old Navy, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters.

Watch the Cubs at Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field has served as the home ballpark of the Cubs since 1916, and it remains a historic American landmark. We were lucky enough to get tickets to the Memorial day game there; it was packed with good natured fans and families, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The surrounding area is known as Wrigleyville, and is dominated by watering holes. We took the El to Wrigley Field, it’s extremely close to the city centre.

Take an architecture tour

Chicago is the birthplace of the skyscraper, which moved from load-bearing wall structures in the early 1880’s to steel skeletal frames only a few years later. The Chicago Architecture Foundation run many excellent tours around the city, including boat tours and neighbourhood walks. We took in the Historic Skyscraper tour which was both an introduction to Chicago’s beautiful architecture and a useful orientation around the Loop.

Browse an extensive collection of art

The Art Institute of Chicago houses a huge amount of great art; we were there for several hours and were only able to view the Photography Collection on the lower level and the American 1900-1950 Collection in great detail. The highlight for me was Grant Wood’s American Gothic – it was exciting to see such an iconic piece of artwork so close up.

Walk along the lakefront

Chicago is on Lake Michigan, which is more like an sea by European standards. We walked along the lakefront from Millennium Park, past the picturesque dock and well-kept greenery to the touristy but fun Navy Pier, which provides a 15-storey Ferris Wheel, a crazy golf course and a spate of family-friendly cafes and restaurants.

Go bowling

We were determined to take part in some all-American activities, so we headed down the central Lucky Strike Lanes, which actually has a dress code (if a relatively lax one), a wine bar, a very decent restaurant and some pool tables if bowling isn’t your thing. There was a curtained off section for groups too.

Have a few cheeky drinks

A full spectrum of bars exist in Chicago; from slick cocktail places like J Bar, to old hotel bars like 17 West, to Oirish pubs like Timothy O'Toole's Pub. Wrigleyville is chockful of sports bars, and many offer great pub grub that we enjoyed. Chicago bars offer a large selection of beers, both international and local. Recommended brews are the local Blue Moon and Goose Island wheat beers.

Of course Chicago has plenty more to offer, but we just couldn't do everything. It's a great city; if you ever get a chance to visit, you'll have a fantastic time.

Top Tourist Activities in California.
Friday, June 8, 2007, 02:51 PM - California
Sequoias. Top Tourist Activities in California. A travel destination article featured by USA City Directories, a portal to guides and directories for cities, counties and states in the United States Of America. There are few areas in the United States, and in the world for that matter, that offer the sheer abundance and diversity in terms of tourism that can be found in the state of California. The state is home to many different attractions, both natural and man made, and tourists can find any taste for travel that they may have satisfied in this most populous state.

Natural

Eco-tourists have always been drawn to California due to many of the natural attractions found there. In fact, California’s natural wonders hold several records, and in order to preserve this legacy there are several National Parks set up throughout the state. Here are some of the most popular natural attractions and activities in the state.

- California Redwoods. California is the home to the tallest organisms on earth, the giant redwoods. These trees can be found all along the California coast, with a big concentration just north of San Francisco.

- Sequoias. California is also home to the largest living organisms on Earth, and these can be viewed at Sequoia National Park in central California. In fact, the Park is home to five of the largest tress on earth in terms of sheer volume of wood. The park also has several areas for hiking and nature watching.

- Ocean. When you think California, surfing might be one of the first things that come to mind, with good reasons. The surf along the Pacific Ocean make for some of the best year round surfing in the world, and the best surf in the United States. The Pacific Ocean also makes for some great beaches all along the California coast, including the incredible Long Beach.

- Death Valley. California holds yet another record in that the hottest spot in the United States was recorded in Death Valley. This is a popular destination for tourists who like to hike and rock climb, but make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen!

- Natural Activities. Hiking, whitewater rafting, skiing, and mountain biking are all activities that can be enjoyed in California. The rich natural diversity of the state make for a satisfying trip for people of all adventure tastes.

Man Made

In addition to its natural wonders, California has many attractions made by humans that tend to draw even more humans to look at them.

- Cities. Los Angeles and San Francisco are two of the most storied cities in American history, and both are located in California. San Jose, Anaheim, and San Diego are also popular with tourists. San Francisco also offers one of the greatest achievements in American architecture in the Golden Gate Bridge, a suspension bridge that spans the Bay.

- Vineyards. California is home to one of the most productive wine industries in North America, and each year wine enthusiasts from all over North America flock to the vineyards of the state for tastings and festivals. California is well noted for all of its agricultural outputs, being the world’s fifth most productive regions.

- Disneyland. Of course, you can’t leave out the most exciting destinations for kids when you are talking about tourism in California. Disneyland continues to be one of the most popular destinations for tourists in the United States, although it has been losing popularity in recent years.

California is the third largest state in terms of land mass, which is a good thing as there needs to be a lot of room for all of the people that live there. While it is the most populous state, there is still natural wonder throughout the state, making it perfect for tourists of all stripes.

San Francisco Tourists Attractions.
Thursday, June 7, 2007, 02:01 PM - California
Coit Tower. San Francisco Tourists Attractions. A travel destination article featured by USA City Directories, a portal to guides and directories for cities, counties and states in the United States Of America. The most vital San Francisco shuttle tours attraction is Golden Gate Bridge. Take a walk across this outstanding bridge. It features wonderful views of the deep sea, city, mountains, and amazing islands. On another side of the passage there is a vista point. Do not stop there, walk ahead and to the left under the thruway, or you could further take a walk under the Golden Gate Bridge, mount on the hill, and get to the most stunning view of the bridge. Moving forward you would get to Hawk Hill with even more impressive views.

The next San Francisco tours attraction is Coit Tower. Climb a top the Telegraph Hill and feel the top most view of the city. This is an exclusive experience. The area around is recognized as North Beach. Get to Columbus Avenue and take pleasure in the safe nightlife region with a lot of huge Italian restaurants and excellent shops, bars, and other clubs, especially at the junction with Broadway Street.

Most tourists visit fisherman’s Wharf extends between Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square. It has a lot of memento shops, third class hotels, loud attractions, and inexpensive "museums". It is a very noisy place. But! It was and it is yet now an actual fisherman’s wharf! Do not stick to nibbled trails look further around. You would find most adventures places, views, and excitements.

As Columbus Avenue is at the middle of Italian culture, Valencia Street is the artistic center of Mission district. A lot of huge Spanish hotels and clubs are available there. The region has its own immense feeling. Here you can find the little spot in the area around Mission de Asis. Following are some of the places you should surely visit to get more actual and complete picture of San Francisco society life: Ocean Beach and close to Cliff House, China Town, Yerba Buena Gardens, Castro Street.

During a year there are many huge city events: Chinese New Year, Love Parade, and other smaller, less famous, but never the less attractive events as well. This is possibly the greatest city attraction - vulcanizing educational life. Do not miss chance to meet the city inhabitants, so varied, so extraordinary.

Nantucket Island Massachusetts - A Hidden Treasure.
Wednesday, June 6, 2007, 01:52 PM - Massachusetts
Nantucket Island Massachusetts - A Hidden Treasure. A travel destination article featured by USA City Directories, a portal to guides and directories for cities, counties and states in the United States Of America.Once the whaling capital of the world, Nantucket Island in Massachusetts is now a magnet for those seeking an escape to a vacation filled with natural beauty, scenic walks, pristine beaches, and a generous dose of history.

Nantucket can be reached by ferry from Woods Hole and Hyannis on Cape Cod or by a short plane ride from Boston and other New England airports. If you ferry leave your car on the mainland because you won't need it here.

Isolated and left alone for generations after the New England whaling industry collapsed and a great fire ravaged the town itself, it provided the perfect preservation environment for the island. Today it offers visitors interested in New England's architectural history, the largest collection of original pre-Civil War buildings in the country.

The island hub is Nantucket Town with its cobble streets, historic buildings, museums, restaurants, lodging, and picturesque harbor. You'll find mostly everything you need to enjoy this charming island in close proximity to the town harbor wharfs.

Nantucket Island is best experienced on foot or bike. The island is only 14 by 3.5 miles but has ten stunning beaches, seven bike paths, three historic lighthouses, a wildlife refuge, four superb golf courses, and miles of gentle hiking. But no theme parks, shopping malls, or large noisy crowds - you left those on the mainland.

Don't worry if you're not into long walks or spending hours in the saddle - you can still spread out your towel and visit the outlying beaches and other attractions. Buses and tours leave from Nantucket town on a daily basis, and you can even take a cruise out to Muskeget and Tuckernet Islands to see seals and birds, and experience a beach adventure.

Nantucket town is a little old fashioned and conservative in its tastes so while the atmosphere is warm and friendly make sure you pack suitable attire to visit restaurants and shops.

The Island's weather is temperate with ocean breezes providing free air-conditioning in the summer, and the Gulf Stream keeping winters mild and the ocean waters tolerable in beach season. Pack a sweater for the evenings in summer as like most New England coastal areas it can cool quickly.

Don't let the idyllic setting or relaxed island atmosphere fool you into thinking it doesn't cater for the sophisticated visitor as well as families with small children. A vast array of lodging and dining experiences await any traveler.

For a small island there are a lot of Bed and Breakfast places and these tend to be better deals than many of the hotels, expect to pay in the $150 - $250 per night range. The Anchor Inn, Centerboard Guest House, and Brant Point Inn continue to receive rave reviews each season. At the extreme expensive resort end - The Wauwinet will cost you over $700 per night but it's in a class of its own.

Dinning out should be an experience and fun, but many times it's a game of chance. So I tend to rely on the locals for the latest quality index rather than an out-of-date guide book. Having said that two ever popular places worth checking out are The Pearl for dinner and Black-Eyed Susan's for breakfast.

For families take a peek at Brotherhood of Thieves for dinner, and Something Natural to pick up a sandwich on your way to the beach.

Many visitors favorite time on the island is spring and fall, when everything is mostly open but you have much to yourself and the price is right.

If you're looking for a relaxing New England vacation surrounded by ocean, white sand in your shoes, great food, and a place close but far away, then make your reservations and pack your bags for Nantucket Island.

Universal Studios - The Kid Friendly Vacation Destination.
Tuesday, June 5, 2007, 04:10 PM - Florida
Universal Studios - The Kid Friendly Vacation Destination. A travel destination article featured by USA City Directories, a portal to guides and directories for cities, counties and states in the United States Of America. If you're looking for somewhere great to take the kids over summer break, why not consider taking them to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida? Theme parks very rarely miss the mark with kids. Most children love the thrilling rides, exciting shows, and fun characters. It's like a carnival on a much grander scale. Universal Studios is most definitely a kid friendly vacation destination.

With five parks to choose from in the Universal Orlando Resort family, the biggest problem is going to be finding the time to fit in all the activities. You have the choice of going to the Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida, Wet 'n Wild water park, Sea World, and Busch Gardens. Rather than trying to make the choice of visiting only one or two of the Universal Studios parks, many people opt for a multi-park pass. Depending on how many parks you plan to visit during your stay in Orlando, you can purchase passes to accommodate your family's choices.

You can also stay on-site at Universal Studios during your vacation. There are three hotels to choose from and each hotel is only steps away from the parks. The Royal Pacific Hotel is a tropical themed hotel with waterfalls, swimming pools and weekly luaus. The Hard Rock Hotel is perfect for the rock 'n roll fan who wants to vacation like a rock star. The Portofino Bay Hotel features authentic Italian furnishing and impeccable service. Regardless of which hotel you book into, you can bypass the regular lines for all rides at all parks just by showing your room key. Not having your children wait in long lines for rides is a kid friendly vacation destination perk you can't get at any other hotels.

You can even design your own vacation package. This allows you to customize your trip and take advantage of the newest and best deals available. By designing your own vacation package, you can create the experience that best suits your family. Packages can include, hotels, attraction tickets, multiple park passes, airport or hotel transportation and car rentals if needed. You can also book a Universal Studios character breakfast for your children. That would pretty much guarantee your spot in their heart as "cool parental unit" of the year. If a kid friendly vacation destination is on the horizon, then Orlando, Florida is worth consideration.

Have you heard the news? Universal Studios is in the process of building a Harry Potter Theme Park! Find out more about this kid friendly vacation destination.
